Our Story

If you are not familiar with the rural countryside of New Jersey, your eyes would be pleasantly surprised by the rolling hills, plush greenery, and acres and acres of farmland of this Garden State. And so, our Pleasant Vue story begins...

The semi-truck filled with our home furnishings and personal items met our family of five on the farm on December 17, 2007, and we eagerly began our move into the house on the hill. Surrounded by boxes, we decided our first excursion was to hit a local farm to cut down a Christmas tree for the den. Priorities! Priorities!  Fortunately, a good labeling system allowed us to find the boxes of Christmas décor and ornaments very quickly.  The kids were onto decorating while mom and dad began the unpacking.

Once settled in, we started with a major house renovation, but Al's nature bug was getting the best of him. So, his first attempt at livestock was egg-layer chickens.  A few months later and baskets of fresh eggs each morning was enough to give us 'farm-life fever'.  Breeder pigs, beef cows, two crazy short-lived goats, ducks, rabbits, barn cats and dogs have all made their Pleasant Vue debut. Some stay for a duration and some have come and gone.

In June 2012, we welcomed our fourth child onto the farm and things became more lively. Oh the pure excitement in the eyes of a toddler when in the presence of animals is 'priceless'.

As the years move on, our view on family, faith and farming keeps getting clearer.  While there are trials and errors along the way, the gaps are filled with moments of joy and discovery.

The scenic view on the farm is quite beautiful in any direction, but it often reminds us that our most Pleasant Vue is always where the Son shines. We hope you enjoy exploring our sight! :)
